Sister Jane Frances Society members, Charles and Arlene Steichen, have been loyal supporters of Providence St. Jude Medical Center since 1990.
A Most Treasured Society
The Sister Jane Frances Society is a unique and profoundly valued group at Providence St. Jude Memorial Foundation. This group was established to recognize and honor those who have made legacy gifts in their estate plans to Providence St. Jude Medical Center. Society members not only include grateful patients, but also current and former caregivers, physicians, volunteers and others from the community.
The Society’s namesake, Sister Jane Frances Powers, was a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange and the medical center’s first president. In her 30-year tenure, the hospital grew and kept pace with the changing health care needs of the community. Today, Providence St. Jude’s status as one of Southern California’s most respected and technologically advanced health care providers is a tribute to the late Sister’s legacy of vision and perseverance.
A legacy gift is an act of faith in the future of the hospital, a meaningful commitment that cannot be overstated. Providence
St. Jude Memorial Foundation honors past and present Society members (those who expressly give their permission) with their
names on the Sister Jane Frances Society donor recognition wall in the Harbor Lobby of the medical center. More important,
members are invited to special events and remain informed about the changing landscape of the medical center.
There are many ways to become a member of the Sister Jane Frances Society by making a legacy gift, including:
- A bequest gift in a will/trust
- Beneficiary designation: life
insurance policy, IRA or other account - Gifts of real estate or stock
- Charitable gift annuity (CGA)
If you already have the medical center in your estate plans, or if you have questions and would like to discuss how we can help you establish a legacy at Providence St. Jude, please contact Christopher Dukes, regional manager, planned giving, at 714-992-3033 (office), 626 252-1097 (cell) or Christopher.Dukes@providence.org.
