The Future of Philanthropy is Here
Named funds give donors a flexible option for supporting philanthropic priorities
Last year, we introduced a new way to give that captured the attention of donors interested in directing their giving toward their philanthropic passions. Providence St. Jude named funds allow you to choose a strategic focus for your giving that aligns with your priorities.
The choice is yours
One of the most exciting aspects of creating a named fund is that not only do you choose to designate an area to direct your giving, but you also choose the purpose of the fund. Our Foundation team works closely with you to determine your fund’s best and most meaningful focus. Fund choices include:
- Excellence Fund — Assist Providence St. Jude in maintaining and enhancing the level of excellence in its institutes and programs by providing clinical leaders with needed resources for important special projects that elevate care.
- Innovation Fund — Support clinical leaders in pursuing promising novel approaches and leading-edge ideas not otherwise supported by traditional operational funding.
- Education Fund — Provide resources for skill-enhancing and knowledge sharing for physicians and nurses to keep up to date with best practices.
- Research Fund — Assist Providence St. Jude in investing in new and forward-thinking research initiatives to advance patient care.
- Named Restricted Fund — Designate an area to direct your gift and let Providence St. Jude leaders and physicians determine the most pressing need for how and when the funds are used within that area.
Named Fund Trailblazers
We’re pleased to recognize and celebrate the donors who led the way by establishing the first named funds supporting services throughout Providence St. Jude Medical Center. We recognized their generosity by naming these funds in their honor:
- Wo Kong Kwok, Ph.D., and Mrs. Olga Denton-Kwok Neurosciences Innovation and Implementation Fund
- Carlos and Haydee Mollura Cardiac Innovation Fund
- Paul and Mary Reitler Excellence in Cardiac Services Fund
- Thad and Ann Sandford Neurosciences Innovation Fund
- Selwood Cardiac Innovation Fund
- Charles and Arlene Steichen Digestive Health Innovation Fund

Donor support provides critical resources for patient care priorities and helps us to better serve our community. For more information on supporting Providence St. Jude Medical Center through a named fund, please contact the Memorial Foundation at 714-992-3033 or email SJMF@providence.org.
