Boots & Ballgowns
A Walk Among the Stars Fashion Show & Gala 2023
On Saturday, November 4, supporters and friends of Providence St. Jude Medical Center gathered at the Anaheim Marriott as the foundation hosted its annual A Walk Among the Stars Fashion Show & Gala in support of the Crosson Cancer Institute. This year’s theme of “Boots & Ballgowns” illuminated the evening as we celebrated the 22 cancer warriors who took to the runway and captivated guests with their infectious confidence.
The event’s title sponsor, BMW of Buena Park, played a pivotal role in making this evening possible. Kevin Oliff, general manager at BMW of Buena Park, stated, “We are proud to support Providence St. Jude Medical Center’s Crosson Cancer Institute as they ease the journey of cancer patients. This event truly exemplifies the strength of our community coming together for a noble cause — and we are honored to be a part of the fight.”
One of the evening’s emotional highlights was the debut performance of the St. Jude Choir, composed of caregivers from various departments within Providence St. Jude. Their rendition of the classic hymn, “It Is Well With My Soul” moved attendees to tears, reminding everyone of the strength that can be found in unity. The choir also sang a triumphant rendition of “Goodness of God” to welcome the models to the catwalk.
The event’s ultimate success was reflected in the generosity of its guests, with an astonishing $720,000 raised. This incredible milestone ensures Providence St. Jude can continue in its mission of providing high-level care and support to cancer patients and their families who entrust us with their care. A Walk Among the Stars was not just any fundraising event; it was a testament to the true power of hope and a community united in the fight against cancer.
