Linear Accelerator and PET Scanner Blessings
Thanks to philanthropic support, the medical center was able to acquire a fully digital GE Discovery™ Mi Gen 2 PET/CT scanner and the latest Varian TrueBeam® Linear Accelerator 3.0. These devices offer enhanced capabilities including faster and more detailed images, allowing caregivers to target and treat cancer with greater precision and efficiency.
A Feel-Good Fitness Story
For the second year in a row, local Zumba instructors Lori and Anna organized a community fundraiser with their students that raised over $1,000 for patients and families undergoing treatment at the Crosson Cancer Institute.
Buena Park Police Department Goes Pink
Our friends at the Buena Park Police Department (BPPD) presented a check for $3,500 to support patients of our Kathryn T. McCarty Breast Center. This is the fourth year that BPPD has supported Providence St. Jude through their Pink Patch Project, a campaign that sells vibrant pink versions of the officer’s uniform patch in support of breast cancer charities.
Titans Give Back
As part of their inaugural “Titans Give Back” day of service, students from Cal State Fullerton painted a mural, entitled Turtle Troop, for our Centers for Rehabilitation and Wellness. The mural can be found within the Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation waiting room and represents the commitment of our local community partners.
