The Stars Were Shinning Bright
Providence St. Jude Memorial Foundation’s A Walk Among the Stars Fashion Show & Gala returns!
After a two-year absence, Providence St. Jude Memorial Foundation’s A Walk Among the Stars Fashion Show & Gala came roaring back on May 14, 2022. More than 450 guests joined our master of ceremonies, KTLA 5 news anchor Micah Ohlman, to enjoy a Roaring 20s — themed night at the Anaheim Marriott.
The return of A Walk Among the Stars was an incredible success raising more than $500,000 in support of Providence St. Jude Medical Center’s Crosson Cancer Institute.
The highlight of the evening was the fashion show featuring 18 cancer patients and survivors. “I’m inspired by our models and the thousands of cancer patients we treat every year at the Crosson Cancer Institute,” says Laura Ramos, chief executive, Providence St. Jude Medical Center. “Our models are bravely telling their stores because they know they can give hope to others. We’re honored and humbled that they’ve come to walk the runway to support outstanding cancer care at Providence St. Jude.”
The evening had many memorable moments, including a video that told the story of how the groundbreaking genetic testing capabilities at Providence St. Jude helped a mother of three change her future. The video also shared a story of how one cancer patient’s healing journey impacted another patient’s road to recovery.
Title sponsor BMW of Buena Park was joined by many other sponsors and donors to support the event. “We are so very grateful to BMW of Buena Park and all of our sponsors and supporters for their amazing generosity,” says Cathy Shircliff, chair of the event’s planning committee. “This type of commitment requires a large community. Together, we are helping to bring the latest and most advanced cancer care to our patients.”
