Empowering Families
Providence St. Jude Medical Center supports families in need through Caregiver Resource Center
Each year, Providence St. Jude Medical Center’s Community Health Investment Programs invest time and resources into local communities to increase access to health care and many other services for vulnerable populations. The various programs are committed to providing Orange County residents with the support they need to make their families healthier and safer.
Our Community Health Investment Programs support several local initiatives that provide a variety of low-cost programs and services to Orange County families in need, including the Caregiver Resource Center (CRC).
A focus on family caregivers
Caring for a loved one with a chronic condition puts a financial, emotional and physical strain on families. The CRC is a nonprofit organization that partners with families caring for frail adults over 60 years old and those with brain impairing conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.
Family caregivers receive free assistance and a variety of individualized support services to cope with a loved one’s chronic illness. Services include family consultation, assessment, care planning, counseling, referrals for resources, psycho-educational seminars, respite planning and community education.
“The Caregiver Resource Center is a trusted resource for Orange County families,” says Laura Ramos, chief executive. “By providing families with individualized supportive services, CRC stands apart as the only Orange County agency focusing specifically on the needs of caregivers.”
Partnering with our donors on behalf of our community
Many donors are moved to align with Providence St. Jude in support of providing access to vital services for local families. Donor contributions to our Community Health Investment Programs expand access to health care, promote health improvement and quality of life, and create healthier communities across Orange County.
“We are so thankful for our donors who help assist us in supporting our community’s most vulnerable families,” says Dub Drees, chief philanthropy officer. “You may never meet those whom you helped connect to lifesaving medical treatment, but rest assured, your generous support has made a world of difference in their lives.”
