Pilgrimage Journey
Sister Teresa Yoon, CSJ, who serves as an oncology social worker at Providence St. Jude Medical Center, embarked on a solo 595-mile pilgrimage through Spain as a fundraiser for underserved families at our Crosson Cancer Institute. With only a simple backpack, Sister Yoon traveled for 40 days and raised over $40,000 to benefit the Community Health Investment Cancer Patient and Family Fund. Hear more of her inspiring story at stjudememorialfoundation.org/camino.
Family Bond
The family race team “Josephine Group” came together to organize a fundraiser for the medical center in honor of the 90-year-old matriarch of their family, Josephine. The family and Josephine herself participated in the Santa Claus for a Cause Run to recognize the physicians and caregivers who are currently caring for Josephine through her battle with cancer.
Young Philanthropists
Four students from Arborland Montessori School in Fullerton used their acting talents to voice and dub an English version of the animated Chinese movie The Old Man and Two Mountains. The students used the movie premiere as a fundraiser to raise over $1,700 for cancer patients at Providence St. Jude. Thank you to Brianna, Jolie, James, Alec and Principal Dr. Sueling Chen for hosting this thoughtful fundraiser.
