Cancer Survivor 2024

In 2012, I was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, a hereditary, progressive lung condition. In 2020, I suffered a hemorrhagic stroke but made a full recovery.

My journey began after a follow up on a biopsy taken on June 22nd, 2022. On July 8th, 2022, my world shattered after the doctor gave me the bad news that I had advanced stage prostate cancer with a Gleason score of 9 stage 4A.

Eight years ago, in August 2016, my cancer journey began shortly after celebrating our 59th wedding anniversary on an Alaskan cruise.

In August 2015, nine months after I gave birth to my daughter, Ava, I became very sick thinking I had a case of the stomach flu.

In October 2022, I was diagnosed with stage I breast cancer. The journey has been challenging, yet it has revealed the incredible strength and support around me.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2022. My oncologist Dr. Lee was very helpful in facilitating my biopsy, surgery consult and everything related to the new diagnosis.

In April 2023, I received my stage III breast cancer diagnosis at the tender age of 27. When I heard “It’s cancer,” I knew my five-year-old daughter was not going to grow up without her mama.

I will never forget May 9th, 2022. I was not feeling well and landed in the ER at Saint Joseph Medical Center. A large pelvic mass was found.

During a visit to the ER, I discovered I had throat cancer. The diagnosis was devasting and left me unsure of what, if anything, could be done.

In March 2020, I was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer after an emergency visit to the hospital from unbelievable pain in my lower back.
