Cancer Survivor 2025

My journey began in 2015, when severe abdominal pain led to the discovery of a tumor at the base of my esophagus and top of my stomach, launching me into weeks of brutal chemo and daily radiation that left me emaciated, drained and reliant on a feeding tube.

In 2024, a routine physical revealed a high PSA, and what began as a 30% probability soon became a confirmed diagnosis of prostate cancer.

In November 2023, my world shattered when I was diagnosed with stage III inflammatory breast cancer, a form with no lump but every bit as relentless.

My journey began with a routine blood test in November 2024. They completed a biopsy, and I received the results the day after Christmas last year, which led to a prostate cancer diagnosis.

My journey began with a routine mammogram that led to more tests and finally a biopsy confirming breast cancer, the Big “C.” At first, I was overwhelmed.

In 2019, I was diagnosed with stage IV throat cancer and, a year later, lung cancer.

My world exploded in December 2021 when I went in for what I thought was a routine surgery and woke up to find that I had colon cancer.

At just 24, I was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer while preparing to begin physician assistant school.

In February 2023, I heard the words, “You have breast cancer,” and my world collapsed.

My cancer journey began in 2010, shortly after my family rebuilt our home following the devastating freeway complex fires.
