After years of healthy living and spiritual growth, I was blindsided by a prostate cancer diagnosis that shook me to my core.
In September 2022, as my daughter began college at UCSB, I faced a turning point in my life.
My journey began in May 2022 when Dr. Wong, my gynecologist, ordered a breast ultrasound that would change my life.
In May 2024, I was diagnosed with muscle-invasive bladder cancer, which meant facing chemotherapy followed by surgery to remove my bladder.
After my routine mammogram, I was diagnosed with stage II triple-negative breast cancer and endured chemotherapy, a lumpectomy, 30 rounds of radiation and immunotherapy.
In 2018, I received a kidney transplant and knew I would need to stay vigilant about my health.
In July 2023, after my six-month-old granddaughter nudged me, I discovered triple-negative breast cancer, stage III-IV.
After a breast self-exam, I knew something was wrong, and in May 2023, my fears were confirmed when I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer.
