Inspiring stories of generosity and the remarkable ways people give back to their communities

Beyblades for a Cause

Tegh Sidhu, the young founder of Beyblades for a Cause and son of Providence St. Jude physician Hina Sidhu, M.D. and Amarpaul Sidhu, M.D., raised $2,500 for Providence St. Jude through his Beyblade tournaments. Beyblade is a competitive spinning top game where two players shoot their Beyblade into a small arena and the last Beyblade spinning wins.

Fullerton Firefighters’ Fill-the-Boot Campaign

Our local 3421 Fullerton Firefighters Association donated a generous $11,000 to our Crosson Cancer Institute from their annual Fill-the-Boot Campaign. The gift was made in honor of retired assistant chief Larry Greene, who is currently fighting stage III prostate cancer, and his late wife, Sparrow Greene, who dedicated more than 35 years as a nurse at Providence St. Jude.

Little League With a Big Impact

Golden Hill Little League took their talents off the baseball diamond to impact their local community during breast cancer awareness month. Last October, they hosted a “Pinktober” baseball tournament and sold custom socks designed to raise awareness for the Crosson Cancer Institute. After a month of fundraising, the league raised $2,500 to support cancer services at Providence St. Jude.
